Still D'ARCC

We collaborated with the Still Dark Festival, a local music festival, to bring visual arts to the venues. Maura Meng's ceramic sculptures of feet and legs lit up the stage!
About the artist:
Maura Meng is an interdisciplinary artist currently focused on ceramic sculpture, based in Yellowknife, NWT. Maura's practice in ceramics began with an interest in working with local mud, and has expanded to using a variety of clay bodies and mixed media. She embraces learning and expanding her practice whenever possible, and is currently an artist-in-residence at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Medalta is the largest manufacturer of clay in Western Canada, and at this residency Maura has the space and equipment to create large-scale works, including her exciting pieces for Still D'ARCC.
We acknowledge and respect that we live and work in Chief Drygeese territory. From time immemorial, it has been the traditional land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation.
