Social Fabric is a community art exhibition featuring 15 local artists.
The Yellowknife Artist Run Community Centre (YKARCC) is pleased to host this popular themed fabric and fibre arts show for the fourth time.
The concept of Social Fabric speaks to the interconnected web of relationships, shared values and experiences that bind and weave us together. The artwork in the exhibition represents our shared identities as Yellowknifers through imagery of familiar sky lines, skidoos and jerry cans.
Social Fabric includes artworks that are tactile, textured, and colourful. Many of the works feature found, repurposed, or salvaged materials.
We acknowledge and respect that we live and work in Chief Drygeese territory. From time immemorial, it has been the traditional land of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation.
